Fall 2024 B League Champions - Strada Italiano!

Strada Italiano is your 2024 Fall B Division Champions! 

It was a great Sunday for hockey as the six B Division teams battles hard in three round robin games before playoffs. The round robin games were added to each teams record before Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina area.

The final regular season standings:

1. Strada Italiano: 5-1-1

2. Gemelli: 4-2-1

3. LN Davis Insurance: 4-3-0

4. Green Man Brewery: 3-2-2

5. Taco Billy: 2-4-1

6. Creekside Taphouse: 0-6-1

Strada Italiano & Gemelli were given first round bye's due to being the 1 and 2 seeds.

In the first quarterfinal game, #3 LN Davis Insurance played #6 Creekside Taphouse. Creekside Taphouse was able to pull off the upset with a 4-0 victory.

In the second Quarterfinal game, #4 Green Man Brewery played #5 Taco Billy. Taco Billy was able beat Green Man 3 to 1 to move onto the semifinals.

The first semi-final matchup was #1 Strada Italiano vs #6 Creekside Taphouse. Strada was able to easily control this game and come out with a 5 to 1 victory. 

In the second Semi-final game, #2 Gemelli played #5 Taco Billy. Taco Billy was able to get up quick on Gemelli and handle business with a 5 to 2 victory.

The finals was between #1 Strada Italiano and #5 Taco Billy. This was a really close game. Goals were scored back and forth between the two teams. This game went to double overtime. Both goalies played lights out for their teams but one team had to win and that team was Strada Italiano, winning 3-2. 

John Burgess, goal tender for Taco Billy announced his retirement. We wish him well as he has been a staple of our community in net for many years.
