3 v 3 League

Asheville Hockey 3v3 League General Information

Each 3v3 division will consist of at least FOUR teams of 6 - 7 skaters. Each division will be a pool of players drafted by a captain. 


To accommodate the amount of players, we will be going to FOUR divisions.

Divisions:
Gold: High level of individual skill and knowledge of roller hockey. Made up of players with years of experience in roller or ice hockey. This division will consist of your top A Players from the Spring and Fall seasons.


Silver 1: Skilled players with some knowledge of roller hockey. Made up of players who have a few years of experience in roller or ice hockey. This division will consist of players from lower A division and Upper B division from the Spring and Fall seasons.

Silver 2: Mix of Skilled and Veteran players with some knowledge of roller hockey. Made up of players who have a few years of experience in roller or ice hockey. This division will consist of players from lower B division and Upper C division from the Spring and Fall seasons.


Bronze: Developing players who are new to roller hockey. Made up of players who are new or returning to the game of hockey after many years. This division will consist of the middle and lower C players from the Spring and Fall seasons.


Days of the Week:
Gold = Mondays/Sundays (Times TBD)

Silver 1 = Wednesdays/Sundays (Times TBD)

Silver 2 = Thursdays/Sundays (Times TBD)

Bronze = Tuesdays/Sundays (Times TBD)


Fees:

REFUNDS:

  • Refunds will only be given before the day of your division's draft. After teams have been drafted, refunds cannot be given.

Regular Season:

  • 3 v 3

  • Season Game Schedule TBD

  • Two 20 minute periods

  • Penalties are Penalty Shots

  • 1 timeout per game

  • Stop Clock happens in a two goal game within two minutes left in 2nd period

  • NO Overtime

Playoffs:

  • 3 v 3

  • 1 timeout per game

  • Stop Clock happens in a two goal game within two minutes left in 2nd period

  • NO timeouts in overtime

  • Championship Games will have 10 minute overtime periods

About Adult League

Season General Information

AHL seasons consist of a pool of players being drafted by division captains. After registration, a team draft will happen, followed by your captain reaching out before games start.

  • 3 Divisions

    • A Division: High level of individual skill and knowledge of 4-on-4 roller hockey. Made of up players with years of experience in roller or ice hockey.

    • B Division:  Skilled players with some knowledge of 4-on-4 roller hockey. Made up of players who have a few years of experience in roller or ice hockey.

    • C Division: Developing players who are new to 4-on-4 roller hockey. Made up of players who are new or returning to the game of hockey after many years.

    • You may be moved up or down a division depending on your skill level

    • ONLY family members are allowed to tether

  • 4-6 teams per division

  • 8-10 players per team

  • $150 for Spring/Fall seasons and $110 for Summer

Game Cancellations

Because our rink is located outdoors, it is subject to the elements. Games may be canceled within 1-1.5 hour of inclement weather as determined by the AHL. You will receive updates via email on cancellations and makeup games.

REFUNDS

Adult Spring and Fall Seasons

  • Yearly Schedule

    • Spring - March to May

    • Fall - September to October

    • 8 regular games and 2 playoffs

  • Weekly schedule

    • A - Monday 8 and 9pm

    • B - Wednesday 7, 8, and 9pm

    • C - Tuesday 7, 8, and 9pm

    • A/B/C - Sunday 1-6pm for 2 games and cancelation makeups

Adult Summer Seasons

  • Yearly Schedule

    • June to August

    • 6 regular games and Single Elimination Playoffs

  • Weekly schedule

    • Tier 1 A/B Monday 7, 8, and 9pm

    • Tier 2 B/C Tuesday 7, 8, and 9pm

    • Tier 1 and 2 Wednesday 7, 8, and 9pm cancellation makeups

Asheville Hockey Adult League Game Rules
  • All players must have 8 wheels on their skates to play

  • Adult player minimum age is 16 as of the first game of the season

  • Any suspension penalties assessed during the last game of the season will be served during your next game regardless of when that game is

    • For example, if you are given a game misconduct during the last game of the Fall season, you will be suspended for your next game(s) in the Spring season. If you skip seasons, the suspension still applies for your first game back.

Game Format:

  • Two 23 minute periods

  • One 30 second timeout per period, per team

  • One 1 minute intermission

  • No overtime for regular season games

  • One 5 minute overtime for playoff games, followed by shoot out

  • Championship Game: 10 minute periods, sudden death overtime. 

Regular Season:

- Two 23 minute periods and NO overtime
- Penalties are 2 minutes for minors and 5 minutes for majors
- Team will start on the opposite side of the rink from their bench to start the game and finish on the side of the rink their bench is on.
- Each team has 1 timeout per period, totaling (2) timeouts per game.
- Stop clock happens in a two goal game with two minutes left in the second period.

Playoffs:
- Playoff Games are two 23 minute periods.
- Penalties are 2 minutes for minors and 5 minutes for majors
- Teams will start on the opposite side of the rink from their bench to start the game and finish on the side of the rink their bench is on.
- Each team has 1 timeout per period, totaling (2) timeouts per game.
- Stop clock happens in a two goal game with two minutes left in the second period.
OVERTIME:
- One 5 minute stop clock overtime and if no winner is determined, 3 player shootout. If the first three players are unable to win the shootout, the team will continue picking new players to shoot until a winner is determined.
- No timeouts in Overtime
- Championship Games will have 10 minute periods rotating sides until a winner is determined with no breaks in between overtime periods.
- There are no breaks in between overtime periods. Players will line up after the 2nd period and/or any overtime periods.
