Youth Co-Commissioners:
All of our divisions are coed and non contact. The Asheville Hockey League does its best to place players in the appropriate divisions. Players who have excelled and whose skills warrant it may have the option to play up.
Mites/Squirts- The players in these divisions generally range in age from about 5 to 9. The Mite/Squirt Divisions are geared towards new players who have not played before and those improving their game to get to the next level, and focuses on teaching the fundamentals of skating, shooting, passing and team play.
PeeWee- Players in this group generally range from 10-12 years of age.
Bantam- Players in this group generally range from 13-16 years of age.
Teams generally practice once a week for 1 hour and play one game a week, contingent on the weather.
Practices will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday
Day and Time TBD
Generally when it is below freezing games will be postponed - pucks crack in the cold weather and we cannot play.
Our rink is open air and rain will force cancellation of games. Coaches will contact teams as cancellations occur.
If it is raining and warm enough practice will be held in shoes. Game days may be practice days if it rains, and games may be made up on practice nights if it is a necessity. Coaches will contact teams on delays/cancellations/adjustments of schedules.
